The Playlist Book Tag

I saw this on For The Love of Books blog a couple weeks ago and it looked like so much fun! I love music and I love books, so I thought this would be the perfect tag to do. So, here goes!

The Rules:

  1. Put your music on shuffle and pick out the first ten songs (or how many songs you want).

  2. Take each song and match it with a book it reminds you of.

(Note, since I’m lazy, there’s a lot of songs that didn’t remind me of books, so I may or may not have skipped a couple songs that came up on shuffle. Also, a lot of these songs were a phase for me, so some of them I may not really like now. Just for reference…)

Wake Up by Black Veil Bride = The Maze Runner by James Dashner

(The song talks about lies of the world and rebellion, so I thought it fit this book)

The Other Side by Ruelle = Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James

(It’s both a melancholy and romantic song, so I thought it fit for Darcy and Lizzie in this book)

Tomorrow We Fight by Svrcina and Tommee Profitt = The Cry of Icemark by Stuart Hill

(This one was an easy choice, since I actually discovered this song around the time I was reading this book and it fit so well!)

When We Were Young by Lost Kings = Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling

(The song talks all about reminiscing on being young and growing up, which fits for this series)

If This Is Love by Ruth B = Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

(The song is rather a sad song, perhaps about a difficult relationship, so it reminded me of Sophie and Howl)

Love Led Us Here by Muppets Treasure Island = Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson

(The only reason I associate this song with the book is because the movie is based on the book)

It Ain’t Me by Selena Gomez & Kygo = Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw

(The song reminds me of the end of Pygmalion when Eliza walks out)

Friends by Anne-Marie and Marshmello = City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

(I don’t like this book, but whenever I hear this song I think of YA fiction when the male best friend ALWAYS likes the main girl even though she doesn’t care…poor Simon)

True Love by Pink = Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare

(I’m so glad this song came up, because it’s such a love/hate song, which is exactly the relationship Beatrice and Benedick have in my favorite Shakespeare play!)

Clouds by Before You Exit = Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

(This is a rather sad song about lose and death, so I thought it fit for Beth)

What a depressing note we ended on! Sorry about that. Anyway, as always I will not be tagging anyone, but if you are interested in doing this tag, I’d love to know what songs and books you put together. Let me know your thoughts down below in the comments, follow my blog for more madness and, as always,

Best wishes in your life full of adventures,

Madame Writer
