Today was a great writing day. Not only did I sleep great, but thanks to the boost of hazelnut coffee (my favorite), I was totally prepared to tackle the next chapter.
I’m surprised how ahead of schedule I am staying this month. When I did my first NaNoWriMo, I really struggled to get the word count done every day (often times even when I got it done it was only a few words above the minimum). Personally, I think it has to do with how passionate I am about this story. I have so much information in my head about this era and the characters that it helps me never have writer’s block.
Daily Summary
Words written today: 2,390
Total words written: 13,114/50,000
Goal words needed: 9,678/50,000
Difference: 3,436 words ahead of schedule.
Current chapter: Chapter 4
Time spent writing: 2 hours
Current weather: It’s a lovely, lovely day again (and I’m stuck inside working).
Tips: Because this is quite a bulky book that I’m writing with new background characters coming in a lot, I’m keeping a cheat sheet listing all the characters as I add them, both for me to keep track of how many characters I have and to remember names and their positions.
Extra notes: Weirdly enough, if I’m writing a somber scene, I like to listen to depressing ballads. Right now, I’m totally obsessed with “Hold On” by Chord Overstreet.
glad it was a better day.
