It’s hot…and summer, so I feel like this is the perfect time to do another fun book tag. This one was created by Misskaelyn over on YouTube. I also have been feeling a lot of my book tags have been a bit repetitive recently, so I think I’ll back off on doing so many. Usually I’ve been trying to post one a month, but I think I’ll switch to one every few months for a while.
For this tag, all the books I pick are some of my favorite summer reads, not simply to answer to the prompts. So, let’s get into it.
What book cover makes you think of summer?

While I didn’t love this book as much as many did, I do love the cover. One of the first things that makes me think of summer is the ocean or water. It’s just the perfect time of year to cool down in water.
What book has brightened your day?

This is a recent read for me and another perfect book for summer. Though it’s definitely darker, there is this sense of happiness and accomplishment despite its haunting feel. It definitely brightened my day when I read the ending.
Find a book cover with Yellow on it.

This book does have a yellow cover, but also it’s a perfect book for summer. It’s heart-warming, beautiful, but also fun to read with deeper messages.
What is your favorite summer beach read?

Honestly, just any historical cozy mystery series is perfect to read on the beach. It doesn’t involve deep concentration, so being distracted by the beautiful surroundings is fine. Also, this series is set in the hot deserts of Egypt, so it’s perfect for summer.
What action book had you running for the ice cream man?

This is definitely an action and science book, and one which would be perfect paired with some ice cream and the heat of summer. I don’t know why water and summer work so well for me.
(Sunburn) What book has left you with a bad and/or painful ending?

This book is just a perfect summer read in general, mostly light and fun. But that ending is incredibly painful and sad. It’s definitely an amazing book, but you just have to be prepared for the ending.
(Sunset) What book gave you the happiest feelings when it ended?

This is another perfect summer read, set in the heat of summer and about the friendship of a girl and a dog and how they change the lives of people around them. There’s also an adorable movie based on the book. It’s a really happy and heartwarming story.
What book cover reminds you of a sunset?

I mentioned this book on my last book tag, but this one is a perfect sunset. It’s yellow with a warm sun setting over the horizon of hills.
What is one book or series you hope to read this summer?

I’m currently rereading the entire Harry Potter series, though I may not have time to finish it until fall. But if you want to binge a great series this summer, this is definitely an amazing one.
So, there are my answers. As always, I’m not tagged and I’m not tagging anyone, but if you end up doing it I’d love to read your answers.
Have you read any of these books? What are your favorite books for the summer? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments, follow my blog for more musings and, as always,
