I was going to write another book tag today, but I couldn’t resist this one, considering the state of affairs of the world right now. This book tag was created on Youtube by Our BookNook and when I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for this time.
Must-Have – A book you *have* to have with you while quarantined.

Honestly, any massive book which takes a lot of time to read but is also kind of light is something I need during this time. Sherlock Holmes is that perfect combination of fun and light, but also a big book which will fill hours and weeks of your time stuck in a house with little to do.
Isolation – A book where the MC spends most of their time in the book alone.

While I had mixed feelings about this book, it’s the first book that comes to mind when I think of a character alone for a long time. It’s a beautifully written if not a bit boring and slow-moving book, but the visuals of the movie are breathtaking.
Binge Read – A long book series you’d recommend to someone who has a lot more time on their hands.

I can think of quite a few historical mystery series I would totally binge read at this time, but I’m going with the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett because it’s an extremely long series and a lot of the books can be read out of order.
Toiler Paper – All the TP is gone! What book are you using?

Unfortunately, I got rid of my copy of this book years ago (or maybe fortunately…), but if I still had it, it would definitely be the first I would sacrifice as toilet paper. Plus, it’s a whole long series, so if you owned the entire series, you would have toilet paper for months!
Anti-viral – A book that went viral that you have avoided or not read…yet.

This book came out last year and I feel like everyone was talking about it (at least most of the bloggers and book Youtubers I follow). However, it’s set in the 1960’s (an era I’m not interested in) and it focuses on sex, drugs, and music of the era…so I decided to skip.
Super Binge – What book and TV series combo would you recommend?

It’s between this series and Lord of the Rings, but I choose this one simply because it’s longer and will take longer to read/watch. This also feels like a pretty obvious answer, but it’s one of the few series where I enjoy both the books and the movies (even if I didn’t like all the choices in the movies).
As always, I wasn’t tagged and I’m not tagging anyone. However, if you do end up doing this tag, I would love to hear your answers.
Do you agree with my book choices? What would your choices be? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments, follow my blog for more musings and, as always,
Best wishes in your life full of adventure,
Madame Writer
This looks like a fun tag! I think I’ll use this as my first tag post 😀

This is such a fun tag! At the moment, I’m just trying to read as much as I can although I didn’t read much this month. Someday, I’ll try to tackle ‘Life of Pi’.

I enjoyed your post. Around this time last year I reread and read the titles that I had not read in the HP series. A perfect idea for this moment in time.

I thought it was a perfect idea too, and I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I’ve just finished reading Life of Pi and I agree-some parts are indeed rather slow-moving. But I loved the beginning and ending so overall I’d say it’s a great book to read in quarantine. Going to watch the movie next, hope it is good!

I recently watched the movie and enjoyed it more than the book. And I know a lot of people who love the Life of Pi book. Even if I did find it slow, I loved the plot twist.

Fun questions! I’m sitting here trying to think how I would answer. Though the series is pretty odd in both the books and the Netflix series, my mind goes to A Series of Unfortunate Events for the last one. 🙂

A Series of Unfortunate Event is a great idea, I agree. And I had a challenge answering them too.

I have to get stuck into the Discworld novels again. I’ve only read The Colour of Magic, The Light Fantastic and Hogfather, so there’s plenty more to get me through quarantine!

I totally agree! It’s such a great world, perfect to get lost in during quarantine.
