Another great day for writing. Gosh, this month has been going by so fast! Only twelve more days left of writing and only about twelve thousand words left to write, which means technically I only have to write about a thousand words a day to finish on time, which is a pretty easy number to achieve. But I still am hoping to go over 50,000 words. I know in November I got just the word count, so this month I want to do even better.
I’m that type of person. Once I achieve one goal I become determined to set a higher goal for myself the next time. For example, my book goal on Goodreads’ yearly challenge goes up one book a year because I want to challenge myself! I think it helps me accomplish goals, especially if I set the goal low the first time and then work up to a high goal.
Daily Summary
Words written today: 2,027
Total words written: 38,474/50,000
Goal words needed: 30,647/50,000
Difference: 7,827 words ahead
Current chapter: Chapter 11
Time spent writing: 2.5 hours
Tips: Before describing anything (a room, a person, a city), spend a few moments visualizing it in your mind’s eye. If you are any good at art, do a quick sketch. Then pick out five of the most important things about it (the five senses) and use that as a basis to describe it. What does it look like? How does it smell? How does it sound? Etc.
Extra notes: It’s cloudy today, which means is the perfect day for writing!
I love your tip! I found that to be the best way to visualize things. As a visual learner I like “seeing” things and what better way to see things than to incorporate everything surrounding it? Awesome progress!
