Camp NaNoWriMo 2018: Day 17

After getting a good night’s rest and drinking a lot of tea, I feel much better today. I probably shouldn’t have written the blog post yesterday when I didn’t feel well, but I would prefer putting up any post rather than simply skipping a day with no explanation. Today went well with writing, though I am still busy so I’ll probably not be able to get the 4000 words done I did earlier this month. There is also officially only two weeks left of the challenge, and while I will be excited to be done with it, for now I have a lot more work to do.

I try to take every day at a time, instead of saying, “Oh, I can get this many words done tomorrow, so I don’t need to work hard today.” Since the future is unknown, I like to work in the present without leaving work until later. Procrastination is especially dangerous in writing!

Daily Summary

Words written today: 2,239

Total words written: 34,668/50,000

Goal words needed: 27,421/50,000

Difference: 7,247 words ahead

Current chapter: Chapter 10

Time spent writing: 2.5 hours

Tips: Never put off till tomorrow what can be done today (said someone whose name I don’t recall). Don’t say you’ll write tomorrow or you’ll catch up in a week. Find time now!

Extra notes: Is it just me who likes to change positions when I write? I’ll write for a while on my bed, then move to my desk, then go to my armchair, then maybe go outside. I know, I’m weird.

Day 17 complete! See you tomorrow!
