(this is a picture I took outside my window yesterday…winter in Minnesota is so fun! I thought I’d share it with all my beautiful readers, along with a quote.)
“A few feathery flakes are scattered widely through the air, and hover downward with uncertain flight, now almost alighting on the earth, now whirled again aloft into remote regions of the atmosphere.”
—Nathaniel Hawthorne
Lovely photo. Imagine each snowflake, distinct, its equilateral triangles geometric and jagged, full of hope that it’ll last forever. And then it lands on your palm and it dissolves, into nothingness.
Isn’t there anything we love, that lasts forever? 😀

Isn’t there anything we love, that lasts forever? Well, if you’re Christian, my answer would be God. However, if you aren’t, then everything in this world does die. It’s a sobering thought!

Exactly how have you come to the conclusion that other faiths are somehow so hopelessly lacking? Are you a theologian or at least a student of theology? Or have those 3.5 books you read every week given you the insight?

I would say I’m more a student of philosophy then theology (though I have studied the beliefs of many religions). However, I would not say faiths are somehow lacking. In fact, being a practicing Catholic myself, I do not believe that Christianity is lacking. However, my point was, if one does not believe in religion, then there is nothing to look forward to after death. Without religion, everything simply fades. Love. Hate. Life. Even death itself. That was my point. And yes, I would say reading 3.5 books every week has given me at least some insight into how many people view the world.

Beautiful! Hard to believe I am sweltering in 37 degrees celsius with one of the hottest nights on record and humidity dripping off the air-con. I never know which is worse, extreme cold or extreme heat :O

I personally prefer cold to heat, so I feel so bad for you! 37 degrees Celsius (for me that’s 100 degrees Fahrenheit). That’s crazy!

Hah, you’re in Minnesota, too? Today is a beautiful day with the sun over the snow–both last night and today are great days to have tea + book at hand!

Yep, it’s beautiful. Of course, I did have to get up to shovel at 5:30 this morning to make it to Church. But besides that, I love the snow!
