NaNoWriMo Day 17

Current Word Count: 28,360

As I continue on in my story, it’s becoming more and more of a mess. It started off as a pretty simple story and somewhere along the way of adding twists to lengthen the plot, it turned into a jumble of madness. I don’t even want to read it, because I’m pretty sure it will make absolutely no sense. But I’ve got the word count and that’s good, right?

At this point of the mouth, I’ve given up actually organizing or rationalizing my plot and instead just written wherever my imagination takes me. Trust me, I’ll make certain no one reads this draft…ever. Once this month is over, I’m pretty sure I’ll just burn it anyway.

But I think this month is less about writing the next Lord of the Rings and more about learning how you write. Learning how to progressively write more often and understand one’s weaknesses and strengths in writing. Even if the book is horrible, I’ve learned a lot while writing it.
