Current Word Count: 8,041
Another day, another chapter done. Despite this only being the fifth day, this has been a lot more difficult than I had assumed it would be. I’m struggling every day just to get the word count done. I’m mostly happy with how my story is going, though in future drafts I will definitely do some major revisions.
When I find that I don’t really have any clear vision of the next scene, I usually revert back to what I know. For example, have the character do boring things (like laundry or take a bath). In theory, it sounds like an incredibly boring scene, and yet if you put it in the context of any story, it can became a very interesting scene for either character development or a terrifying twist.
I’ve been reading a lot of books on Wattpad written during NaNoWriMo and I’ve noticed that a lot of people seem to do what I’m doing in my writing. That is, to write as minimalistically as possible. What I mean is don’t worry about making everything clear or adding enough description. Instead, just mention everything necessary for plot/character development. Don’t worry about the details of dialogue, description, or setting. It just slows things down in your writing. At least, that’s what I’ve found helps.
No one seems to answer my questions at the end anyway, so why ask how you guys are doing? And I want a nap. Thus, I’ll just end this with,
Best wishes in your life full of adventure,
Madame Writer
